Alta Plana needs highly-skilled, experienced staff for the following positions:
- Sales Director
Alta Plana is looking for a sharp sales executive. We provide unique
data-analysis software for Web and office deployment along with specialized
consulting services, targeting federal
statistical agencies and private market-research organizations. Experience
selling departmental/enterprise software to federal agencies and the private
sector is required. Responsibilities will include prospecting, cold
calling, presentations and demos, proposal writing, and account management.
Initiative and ability to work independently will be highly valued.
- Support Engineer
The support engineer will handle pre-sales and implementation activities related to Alta Plana's sales of SuperSTAR analytical software to government statistical agencies and market-research organizations. These activities include installing and configuring Web and data-management software on Unix and Windows, user support and training, database design, and trouble-shooting. Programming and data management skills with SAS/SPSS/Splus, Unix shell and/or scripting languages such as Python & Perl, and SQL databases are important. Experience with Java & Java Server Pages and with HTML/XML is desirable.
The ideal candidate will a background in demographic & social statistics and large data sets, good problem-solving skills, training experience,
and the ability to interact with customers and prospects.
Alta Plana hires "regular" employees and is also open to W-2, 1099, and
corporate-to-corporate contracting. All positions are in the
Washington DC area; some positions can be part-time for the right
